FLORA

Rare, protected and unique, many of the plant species that visitors encounter in the protected area of the Kotychi-Strofilia wetlands have international appeal and attract people from around the globe who come in search of them. One such plant is the extremely rare flower Centaurea niederi, which is found in the Black Mountains. All these plants, including the flowers, the ancient stone pines and even the oaks are the main parties responsible for the heady aroma in the air, the main physical sensation that punctuates every visitor’s journey.
