The Lamia Marsh, or Lake Lamia, as it sometimes called, is located in western Achaia, just south of Prokopos Lagoon. It is a shallow swamp which, tradition says, was once inhabited by a mythical creature, the Lamia. During periods of heavy rainfall, the Lamia Marsh joins Prokopos Lagoon.
